Venus Fest is a new Toronto music festival and arts celebration in the spirit of feminism. Between the organizing team, artists, and contributors we are curating a different kind of representation from most established music festivals. We welcome all friends and identities in our space and hope to create an atmosphere of inclusivity, love, and celebration of our amazing community.
Venus is traditionally a planet associated with love, music and the arts. The festival is inspired by these forces, and the force of feminism that is slowly becoming of greater importance to our world. There has long been a need for a different kind of festival and we are responding to that need. Our contributors are people who are furthering this initiative in their communities already.
The first year of Venus Fest will be Saturday September 30th at the Artscape Daniels Spectrum building. Daniels Spectrum is a cultural community hub in the Regent Park neighbourhood of Toronto. The building is fully accessible by Ontario standards and was constructed with a number of environmental and energy-efficient features. We are excited to host the first year of the festival with the support of the Artscape community.
